The Louie Vuitton Don Kicks it.

The much talked about sneakers designed by Kanye West for Louis Vuitton became available today – but good luck getting your paws on them, they’re already sold out! I wonder who bought these 900 something dollar sneakers, during this type of economy?

West makes great music but he is your typical overconfident male which makes him annoying. Equally annoying is it the fact that he is suddenly part of the fashion world. However, I was surprised by is the fact that his sneakers for LV are actually quite nice (minus the price tag). Take a look:

Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring 2010

I can’t help but to think the footwear below is really cool. I don’t care if they’re designed for men, I wouldn’t mind wearing them!

What do you think?

Let ‘em have burkas!

According to NY Magazine, last week, French President Nicolas Sarkozy said full-body veils, like burkas some Muslim women wear over their clothes, are “not welcome” in France. That sounds like something our former President would say and yet I can not help but be incredibly angry at the fact that these men get to rule countries. If somebody like Iran President Ahmadinejad said tthat the cross was not welcome in their country, imagine what type of war would be started then. Many do not realize that the muslim faith is a beautiful faith that includes Jesus as a Prophet. Muslim’s are dedicated believers that pray five times a day and fast during Ramadan. The Muslim faith is accepting – in fact, it is so accepting that you just have to profess your faith of Mohammed in order to become a Muslim. I grew up with Muslims and I thank God for that every day. Every since 9/11 there has been such ridicule towards that faith and I just don’t understand why. Many don’t even know that the majority of the worlds muslims do not exist in the Middle East, but in Indonesia instead. It’s disgraceful.  But all women who wear burkas got the last laugh four days later, because the George V hotel in Paris hosted a fashion show that included nothing but designer fashions that muslim women could wear from designers such as Nina Ricci and Blumarine. Take a look:

I’m glad to see that Muslim women are being recognized by the fashion world. Hopefully, the President of France will apologize for his tasteless remarks.

Glamour Girl

Taylor Swift looks incredible in the pages of Glamour Magazine! Just like Elle UK gave Emma Watson a simple white wall to work with so did Glamour Magazine with Ms. Swift. But unlike Emma, she makes that white wall pop!

Plastic Dreams

Agyness Deyn - Ashanti.jpg

Supermodel Agyness Deyn in the Ashanti boot which retails for $120.00

Until today, I didn’t think that it was at all possible to create shoes like high heels simply out of soft plastic. However, I stumbled upon Melissa shoes and they seem to be designed from just that! The shoes are created by transforming plastic spheres in to … Well, shoes. The plastic is manufactured in Brazil and according to stylefrizz, Melissa sells 2.3 million pairs of shoes a year. Vivienne Westwood is the lastest designer whom has signed models for Melissa and little did I know that I actually featured one of those models on youarewhoyouwear a few days ago. Below are my favorite Melissa designs. They are very interesting and diverse and I can’t believe I didn’t know of the designs until today. Take a look:

Melissa also featured a design on it’s Australian site which immediate caught my eye simply because it reminded me so much of a shoe in which Marc Jacobs created too.

There’s absolutely nothing better than a loyal pair of shoes

IMG_3097

I got these booties in October of 2008. They were incredibly budget friendly and since then, they’ve been through blizzards with me, puddles of mud, dirt, cornfields – you name it. They still look brand new, they feel brand new and they’re a delight to walk in. I hope they remain that way :) I wore them out to the movies along with my Marc Jacobs bag but I forgot to include it in the picture. I went out with my sister to see The Hangover which was by far the most entertaining movie I have seen in years – incredibly hilarious not to mention that Bradley Cooper is so gorgeous! Who knew?

& speaking of Marc Jacobs…

One has to adore his Fall/Winter 2009 shoe collection. It’s a fun collection (am I the only one who feels that the base of the shoes featured below look somewhat similar to a clog?  Maybe Mr. Jacobs found inspiration from the clog and built the shoes from there?) and it just screams Marc Jacobs. Here a my favorite picks:

On a different note…

Take a look at this brilliant editorial from the July issue of Harper’s Bazaar:

The photos feature Chris Noth (who is set to star in the Sex & The City sequel as well as Beau Willimson’s new play, Farragut North which premieres in L.A. June 16th – Get tickets here) & Milla Jovovich who’s obviously the money maker in the family. I love it when roles get switched up especially since it doesn’t look like Dad there is doing too well with all the kids? :) Chaotic.

I also suggest that…

You all take a look at Prabal Gurung‘s Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear (and debut) collection, my favorite looks from the collection are featured below:

With friends like that, who needs enemies?

Time is limited for blogging today, so here’s a very brief summary of what caught my eye so far. Take a look:

Copycats

Gina Tricot is the latest Copycat. Tricot’s design does not come out until the Fall of 2009 and it does cost a lot less than Balmain’s which costs approximately $6,000.00 whereas Gina Tricot’s version costs approximately $55.00. They’re almost identical. Take a look:

Incredible!

Take a look at the new shoes from designer Bebe. They look very similar to the YSL Tribute pump that I wrote about last month.

Wait, there’s more…

Featured below are some designs from various designers that I found interesting. I searched high & low for Martha Davis’s shoes but it seems that Shopbop either does not carry her shoes anymore or they just all simply sold out. Take a look anyway:

The new black?

Tyra Banks asked, “Is Gay the new black?”, The Fashion Show stated that competition is the new black and I have heard a lot of people say that blogging is the new black.

My friends…No, no, no! Nothing is the new black – in my mind. The color black will never be replaced, simply because it’s… black.

Just check out these shoes & accessories:

Palladium Boots

These boots were popular among Alternative artist’s in the 90′s and I guess they stopped producing them – They’re being re-launched this fall and I am sooooooo getting a pair! The boots remind me of the Converse All-Stars but they look more comfortable and for girls like myself who wear a size 10 in shoes, they probaly also look better on due to the fact that they are slouchy. All-stars can some times look uncharming on large feet. Take a look:

Seems like Marc Jacobs might have found some inspiration in Palladium boots when he designed this shoe for his Marc by Marc Jacobs line. I think they’re similiar, what do you guys think? Take a look:
