I am not certain how much Alexander Wang’s sunglasses retail for but I am certain they cost more than $14.80 which is what Bleu Dame’s version costs. To purchase the pair in which is designed by Bleu Dame, click here.
STEVE MADDENESS
I’ve been traveling all weekend but I just had to show you these boots from Steve Madden (who by the way is being sued by Alexander McQueen. For more on that story click here). They’re incredible and cost a mere $159.95 which actually isn’t even that inexpensive but when compared to the $900 Christian Louboutin one can not complain. The boots are available for pre-order here.

Rachel Zoe can’t dress herself but she sure can dress others. Featured above is a look at Rachel Zoe’s collection for QVC which includeds great jewels, faux furs (I’m sure that PETA will be satisfied) and eye-catching evening bags. Prices range from $32-$130. The pieces are an simple and affordable way to add some spice to your basics this fall. I am sure everything will sell out quickly so get your credit cards ready! The collection will make its debut on QVC.com September 12th at 8pm EST.

When I traveled to SoHo to interview Iris Loeffler last month, Ms. Loeffler took me to one of her favorite shoe stores, United Nude. I was instantly impressed with their designs – especially the Stealth design (featured below). I have featured my favorite picks below and if you are interested in purchasing any of the United Nude designs they are available to purchase online. You can also locate a store near you by clicking here.

Siwy Denim is incredible. I don’t know if you can call all of their designs “denim” (hence the sheer fabric used in some of the designs) but here are my favorite picks for their Fall 2009 collection:

I don’t know why Marilyn Monroe stated the quote above because who knows if the person who invented the shoe was indeed a male? It could easily have been a woman. Just take a look at the footwear from Ms. Donna Karan below – she is a brilliant designer. Take a look:

I am also intriqued with Citizens of Humanity’s lookbook. The relaxed, must-have-been-inspired-by Erin Wasson feel is great. Take a look:

Snake bracelet, $5.00

These items featured above are available at Marc by Marc Jabobs stores.
Most of the fall footwear from Alloy.com is incredible. I really like Alloy because they always have my size (I’m a size 10, that does not happen often), their prices are reasonable for a young adult who is in college and the quality is surprisingly great. Take a look at these three pairs featured below, that I fully intend to purchase eventually. To all international readers, Alloy does offer International Shipping.

I’ve expressed before that I am not a fan of Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen. I don’t care for their acting nor do I care for their weird hobo/I’m-super-rich-but-I-like-to-look- homeless fashion statements. However, I really do appreciate their collections the Row and Elizabeth & James. In fact, those are the only celebrity clothing lines that I actually continuously care for. Mary-Kate and Ashley have managed to stay out of their own ad campaigns for the collections unlike fellow celebrity designers such as Jessica Simpson and Avril Lavigne which I find refreshing too. It seems that The CFDA (The Council of Fashion Designers) does recognize this as well because the sisters are among 31 designers (along with designers such as Alexander Wang and Jason Wu) to be inducted in to and honored by The Council of Fashion Designers. They will receive their accolade in New York in October. The Row is inspired by London’s Savile Row and is meant to reflect the actresses personal style. The exact style that I do not care for but somehow really love when they design. Whereas Elizabeth & James is more contemporary and is inspired mainly by vintage pieces also from their personal wardrobes. Both lines should be expanding to include mens collections by the Fall of 2009. I don’t understand why the Row doesn’t have an official website and the girls seem to be behind in their collections since they’re not offering a Fall/Winter 2009 collection from Elizabeth and James yet or so the official website makes it seem. Designers such as Alexander Wang are already featuring such collections on their websites and it concerns me that the girls aren’t up to date with their lookbooks especially since many are now speaking of their collections due to their being inducted in to the CFDA. Anyways, featured below are my favorite items from the Elizabeth & James Spring 2009 Collection. The collection includes jewelry and footwear too and is very feminine and delicate. Take a look:

I enjoyed my lunch break today by dining at Bob’s Place Restaurant which is located in Long Island right down the block from where I work. I first went to Bob’s Place approximately three weeks ago and I fell in love. The food, the service and the atmosphere are incredible. Upon entering the dining area one instantly knows that a good meal is about to follow. Their prices are surprisingly low and everything (I mean, everything) is made fresh. A three course meal is $15.00 which to me, is an incredible deal. I love going there not only because of the food but also because it is such a relaxing place to eat. No one rushes you and you feel like taking your time eating. The atmosphere is excellent and the wait staff is incredible. They’re kind and always smiling. If I were a food critic, I would give Bob’s Place 5 out of 5 stars but just take a look at the review of Bob’s Place from Horse Society Magazine here and visit Bob’s Place Restaurant’s Official Website here.
Below are some photos of the inside of Bob’s Place. I will take my own next time I go there.

I am really, really impressed with the Made Her Think Jewelry Collection, it features some absolutely stunning pieces (my favorite being the knuckle ring pictured below)! The collection offers rings, necklaces, bracelets & clutches. Here are my favorite pieces from the collection:

Necklace available here from Urban Outfitters.
I actually didn’t know that Alexander McQueen also designs jewelry. Take a look at this incredible skull ring, designed by McQueen which is available via. FarFetch:

Every single video of Kanye West’s new song “Paranoid” which features Rihanna has been removed by YouTube due to Copyright infringement claims. However, below are some photos of Rihanna from the video & I don’t know about you, but I think her tape/lingerie get-up is pretty cool. Gotta love Ri-Ri & I really think Kanye should stop being mad over the leak. If people want your music that bad that they’re going to alter it, leak it or whatever then take it as a compliment. Don’t act like a baby. Anyways, take a look:
Rihanna was recently spotted in London wearing this:

I officially respect Nicole Richie (shown above, wearing her own collection from the House of Harlow) & I know she was dying for my approval… Not. Anyways, I do believe that she is considered a fashion icon and she could so easily have created a clothing line like all of the other celebrities but instead, she created a jewelry collection. I like it mostly because it’s affordable – Prices range from $30.00 to $150.00. The collection includes the use of leather, silk, chains, feathers and gold-plated metals among other things. Take a look at a few of my favorite pieces below & shop the rest of the collection here:

I just learned new details regarding Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow collection. According to WWD, Nicole Richie is actually in the process of designing a lifestyle brand that will include apparel, shoes, etc. Disappointing but who can blame her? I apologize for the incorrect information. The collection will hit stores in 2010.
Another jewelry collection that is worth taking a look at, is that of Meadowlark. The collection also features necklaces, bracelets among other items. Here are my favorite pieces:
One of my own personal favorites, from my own (small) jewelry collection is featured below. I have no idea who designed it but it’s a funny piece & every time I look down at it, I think of Pirates of the Caribbean.
On another note… Here’s another copycat alert! It is completely evident that Alexander Wang’s design is of much better quality but the price tag on Missselfridge’s design is much more budget friendly. We all like budget friendly… ;)
Alexander Wang, $595.00 (Purchase by clicking link)
vs.
Missselfridge, $56.00 (purchase by clicking link)
Time is limited for blogging today, so here’s a very brief summary of what caught my eye so far. Take a look:
Gina Tricot is the latest Copycat. Tricot’s design does not come out until the Fall of 2009 and it does cost a lot less than Balmain’s which costs approximately $6,000.00 whereas Gina Tricot’s version costs approximately $55.00. They’re almost identical. Take a look:

Incredible!
Take a look at the new shoes from designer Bebe. They look very similar to the YSL Tribute pump that I wrote about last month.

Featured below are some designs from various designers that I found interesting. I searched high & low for Martha Davis’s shoes but it seems that Shopbop either does not carry her shoes anymore or they just all simply sold out. Take a look anyway:

Tyra Banks asked, “Is Gay the new black?”, The Fashion Show stated that competition is the new black and I have heard a lot of people say that blogging is the new black.
My friends…No, no, no! Nothing is the new black – in my mind. The color black will never be replaced, simply because it’s… black.
Just check out these shoes & accessories:
