Marc Jacobs: Memoirs of a Geisha

Mr. Jacobs offered a nice twist to the runway last night by offering a geisha-inspired look to his models. Pastel colors were prevalent in his designs along with looks that requires the person wearing the designs to have miles worth of legs. Despite my excitement about his collection, I am starting to look forward to when Fashion Week ends. I think the recession truly made a lot of designers suffer and there just seems to be something missing from all collections this year. It’s odd… Anyways, below are my favorite looks from Marc Jacobs’s Spring 2010 RTW collection. Take a look:Picture 32Picture 33Picture 24Picture 35

Tony Cohen designs were light and flowing. His colors were bright but subtle and I just feel like he focused a lot on comfort and making his collection wearable. It was absolutely fantastic.

Vera Wang’s Spring 2010 RTW Collection is by far my favorite collection so far. She truly designed the collection with edge and it is a lot of fun. She also used the color black frequently as well as a black model (the first black model that I have seen since Fashion Week began!). I love it.
